  1. Support MRF format for input files

We have recently been using MRF format for compressing our imagery by up to 90%. It will make my life so much easier if MapTiler could directly ingest this format for caching.

  2. Add tiled TIFF files as data output format under "Advanced Tiles" rendering

    Greetings,

I understand that most people will use MapTiler to render maps that need to be integrated (or compatible) with OSM or Google Maps. In doing so, the output coordinate system is "given".

However, I run several Windows applications whereby coordinates are presented in a local grid. It would be nice if MapTIler could produce a single (large) GeoTIFF file, or alternatively a tiled GeoTIFF (considering the name of your program). That would be very useful.

Generally speaking; it would be very useful if MapTiler clearly indicates whether it talks about the Source Spatial Reference set, or the Target Spatial…

  3. Abort MapTiler when configured thresholds met

We have a server running a licensed copy of MapTiler that automatically processes geotiffs created and uploaded by our users. MapTiler recently attempted to process a geotiff that was created using drone imagery that was not taken when the drone's camera was pointed straight down, but rather when the camera was pitched towards the horizon. MapTiler worked on this geotiff for a considerable length of time, producing hundred of thousands of tiles, before it eventually used up the available disk space and crashed.

It would be nice if there was a way to configure MapTiler to abort if it reaches…

  6. Desktop: Clipping Tool Enhancements

While using the clipping tool, I was wishing for a couple tools such as:
    1. Ability to click a button that would select everything in the file. The maps come to me as GeoEncoded PDF files--the map is clipped, but I would like to select everything around the map (title, legend, etc.) for inclusion into my tiled file. It would be nice to have a button that selected the PDF bounding box to select all.

    1. Also, while using the clipping tools, it would be nice if I could shift-click on the clipping line and move it up or over horizontally/vertically.…

  8. coordinate system

When uploading a tiff or PNG geolocated (UTM projection coordinate system word file .pgw ) the software doesn't automatically recognize the coordinate system and has to be put in manually. But when uploading wgs84 word file it recognize automatically
is there a way to fix this?

  9. Save processed data so you can come back to it in the event of a powerfailure or crash

In the event of a power failure, system crash or forced restart, any processed data is not written and saved. This requires the user to redo the complete process again which can add to days of work. I had tiles processing for 5 days and had a data near 90% completion, but lost it all when there was a minor power outage in the street.
At least a button that lets you 'Save Configuration' and 'Load Configuration'.
    Thanks
    Keep up the good work.

  10. add a MapTiler option for exporting CADRG files

MapTiler supports CADRG files on input, but currently does not support the output of CADRG files.

  11. iOS/Android app -- support high contrast mode

I use your app under bright sun, and sometimes the maps are a little difficult to see with all the glare. Would it be possible to display the map in high contrast mode so it's a little easier to use outdoors?

  12. MapTiper App on IOS needs full screen mode

I love your iOS app. I found it very useful for locating my fishing spots. If you can support full screen mode (hide the side bar and top/bottom bars), that would me it even more useful!

  14. MapTiler API

    Hi,

We are a GPS based software developers and we pretty much work with .mbtiles in our projects.

Is it possible in the near future to have a mobile API to process and cut the image into tiles with an Android or iOS API instead of processing it on a PC with the MapTiler desktop application?

We would like to ability to load an image on the Android or iOS device and set the bounds for it and then the API would generate the .mbtiles file offline so we can use it right away.

    Thank you.

    Global DPI.

  15. NEwer phones have pixelratio higher than 2 - please include this option?

The retina function only takes tare of pixelratios 1 and 2. Newer phones have 3...and 4K phones even higher.

MapTiler 7.0 has variable scale of HighDPI tiles on all profiles including the raster

BTW duplicate request to “Add support for arbitrary high definition tiles”

  16. Desktop: Allow alignment using KML (KMZ) File

I am able to achieve better alignment of "Image Overlay" using Google Earth Pro. It would be nice to save the image as a KML (KMZ) file and import the location and rotation data directly into MapTiler.

  17. Add support for arbitrary high definition tiles

Replace the HiDPI option with numerical scale factor to make it possible to create tiles of arbitrary size. For instance 512px, 1024px or 2048px tiles.
Larger tiles would reduce the number of tiles required to render a map on a high dpi-screen.

  18. Assign location visually (georeferencer) more precision for the coordinates

When setting the coordinates for the points it only allows 6 decimal digits, while it would be more precise if you could accept 8.

  19. Assign location visually (georeferencer) over Google Maps instead of Mapbox

Google maps has better precision and zoom level than Mapbox.

  20. add support for vector tiles

Raster tiles do not work in conjunction with mapbox 2 meaning I can't use map tiler for my project.
