  1. TMS tiles produced by MapTiler accessable trough WMS

OGC WMS access to the tiles - by generation of the mapfile with tileindexes for all tile levels - access to static tiles would be simple and very efficient with MapServer. Info: http://www.mapserver.org/

  4. Add a keyboard shortcut to the 'Render' and 'Go Back' buttons

Make creating raster image maps faster by adding keyboard shortcuts for most used commands.

  5. Desktop: MapInfo MIF file

It would be great to convert MIF files into tiles (with some kind of color picker for shapes and outline)

  7. Desktop: Provide a unified license manager portal for managing MapTiler subscriptions

It would be so much easier if there was a portal where we could manage all the licenses for our organization and have the ability to update the billing email addresses on an ongoing basis. Currently, we have to contact KlokanTech support every time an employee leaves so that the maintenance reminder emails are not sent to his non-functional email address. Also, remembering whose email address correspond to which license-key is a pain!

This is just not a workable solution.

  8. Cloud: Support new formats

Raster layers are fine but it would be great if MapTiler could import .shp, .gpx, .dxf files also.

Also, the content of this site could be embedded in MapTiler (but the site should remain online !!) : http://www.maptiler.org/photoshop-google-maps-overlay-tiles/

  9. Zoom beyond native tile size by Google Maps API scaling

Implement unlimited zooming with existing rendered tiles - by resizing the tiles from the maximal available zoom by Google Maps API JavaScript on the client side.
It is possible to do this functionality by calling GGroundOverlay for tiles which are in the viewport.

  11. Add the ability to determine coordinates from hotspots in a published image

It would be great if you could add hotspot support for the image tiles you publish and offer the ability to retrieve coordinates of a specific hotspot/marker/symbol on the map.
Let me know if you have more questions about my idea. Thanks in advance.

  12. MapTiler API

    Hi,

We are a GPS based software developers and we pretty much work with .mbtiles in our projects.

Is it possible in the near future to have a mobile API to process and cut the image into tiles with an Android or iOS API instead of processing it on a PC with the MapTiler desktop application?

We would like to ability to load an image on the Android or iOS device and set the bounds for it and then the API would generate the .mbtiles file offline so we can use it right away.

    Thank you.

    Global DPI.

  13. Desktop: Allow alignment using KML (KMZ) File

I am able to achieve better alignment of "Image Overlay" using Google Earth Pro. It would be nice to save the image as a KML (KMZ) file and import the location and rotation data directly into MapTiler.

  15. hybrid jpg/png also generates google maps preview

    When using the flag:

    -f hybrid jpg png8a

It should also create an index.html file for previewing the files. A simple "If png doesn't exist, look for .jpg" in the html file should suffice.

Edge tiles will still be png (due transparency) so display a background map.

    Hello Rowan,

We have changed the hybrid output format of the tiles to be able to use viewers, the files are without an extension, as each modern browser is able to display images based on the file headers and do not requires file extension.

You can generate hybrid tiles with viewers using the latest MapTiler 8.0+

  16. Desktop: Sharpness support and PNGNQ embedded

The tiles produced are wery well made but, unfortunately, never sharp. Should be very appreciated an option to can enable the sharpness for the tiles. Eventually with a small portion preview and a throttle, but even just a single button choice.

Also should be nice to include PNGNQ support for palette conversion, because seems that from tge web site on PNGNQ is availabel any win bin file.

At the end, just to tell, also an SQLite MAP format file creation (wich is used as a source by many mappers, shoud be nice)

    Kind regards.

  17. Polish up error messages

The transition from Beta2 to released software is, in my oppinion, very much dependant on giving the user informative error messages.

I noticed the following two error messages when trying to give MapTiler an indexed PNG: Float expected, or index out of bounds. Only by really thinking through the problem was I able to discern that the PNG was suposed to bin in RGBA format, and processing/optimizing done only on the output of MapTiler.

  20. Desktop: Add support for touch pad gestures

The visual would be way better usable with touchpad/trackpad if pinch and swipe gestures were supported to navigate the map(s).
